The academic year 2019-20 witnessed a set of diverse and stirring activities organized by The Business Café, the Editorial Board of The Department of Commerce. Three editions of The BizGeist released on August 4, 2019, October 25, 2019, and April 14, 2020, covered captivating pieces of news and views on various significant concerns, like environmental issues as well as economic variables and their impact. It also covered topics of historical importance like the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak and the story of Mahatma Gandhi. The articles were well written and expressed by students of the commerce department.
Further, the most enticing and delightful event introduced this year was the Mic Drop, the sole purpose of which was to showcase the hidden talents and creativity of people in front of an audience. The event was so successful and enjoyable for the audience that we had a ready market of prolific talent, leading us to organize Mic Drop 2.0, as a part of Lashkara’20. Mic Drop 2.0 was a 3-hour event that grabbed considerable attention during the fest.
TBC also introduced a journalism competition called TBC.Live that had participants from across the Delhi University Campus, taking part in vlogging and covering Lashkara’20 in their own style and editorial capacity.
Another competition organized by TBC was SpectraSmith under Comzone’20, which is its annual event entailing several rounds of competitive activities and exploring people’s general awareness and knowledge.
Not only this, but there were also online quizzes on our Instagram handles throughout the year to keep our audience captive and allow them to be a part of us, through these activities.
Such assemblage of events affirms that The Business Café had a productive, year-round experience, and would continue striding ahead with passion and keep presenting more such immersive activities.
